The PACT is driven by the POLICING PLEDGE.
The Policing Pledge is a set of promises to our communities that not only gives more information
about who their local neighbourhood policing team is, but also ensures that our communities will
have a stronger voice in telling us the police what they think is most important and what they are
most worried about.
The Policing Pledge makes a number of promises on how we, your local police, will work
with you to help resolve your concerns. It also sets standards for the kind of service you can
expect.
WHAT DOES PACT STAND FOR?
PACT stands for Police And Communities Together, here in Kirklees we refer to PACT as Partnerships
and Communities Together because we work with our partners, that’s you the public, the Local
Authority, Housing Groups, Local Elected Councillors, the Safer Stronger Communities Team and
many more statutory and non-statutory bodies to resolve issues that matter to you the most.
WHAT IS PACT ABOUT?
PACT is about delivering community engagement; it’s about empowering our communities and
giving everybody a say on what matters the most or causes the most concern in a particular area.
PACT is how we, the Police, working with our partners can make a difference to our communities
based on the concerns that you raise.
PACT is about problem solving policing, dealing with the low level issues that cause you concern
PACT is about holding your Neighbourhood Police to account
PACT gives you the opportunity to meet members of your Neighbourhood Police Team
PACT is about you and I making a difference.
